Frank E. Hoogeweg, DVM
I am a native of Chicago Heights and attended Marian Catholic High School. My calling to become a veterinarian came, as a teenager, working in the kennelsand eventually in the treatment area of my father’s veterinary clinic.
I completed my undergraduate studies at the Loyola University of Chicago as a chemistry major and after that graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree (D.V.M.) from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981.
After graduation and practicing at various clinics in the area, my experiences led me to make my dream a reality by opening Cedar Way Veterinary Clinic on July 2, 2007.
I enjoy spending time with my pets –dogs, cats, and fish. I am owned by my cat Cayley and she allows me to have dogs as well. It has been an honor to provide affordable, quality, and compassionate care for dogs, cats, and the clients of our community.
Maritess D. Tinio, DVM
I graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and started working full-time at Cedar Way Veterinary Clinic in 2013. My medical interests include behavior management, preventative care, and emergency medicine. In fact, I have been known to work at our local emergency clinics as a relief clinician. Striving to make each pet as comfortable as possible during their visits, I use patience and a gentle hand.
When not at work, I share my life with a neurotic, work-in-progress Shiba Inu named Kasper and a former barn cat named Joy. I enjoy traveling both domestically and internationally, spending time with my close-knit extended family and friends, as well as exploring my creative and artistic sides.
